Top Reasons to Take a Salt Bath

Taking the time to nurture wellness and self-care is important, taking a salt bath can help clean your body while helping with muscle aches, calming of the mind, and eliminating germs all at the same time.  Minerals like magnesium and potassium found in salt can be absorbed during a warm bath to potentially eliminate toxins, remove impurities from the skin and help balance the body, with the added benefit of softer skin that has a healthier glow. 

The long list of benefits from salt baths inspired us to create our own line Bath Salts & Bath Teas. Not only do the Salts have benefits, so do the essential oils we use to scent them, some of the potential benefits include: 

1. Building Immunity – When you take regular salt baths, you aren’t just pampering yourself, you are soaking yourself in a blend of very absorbent minerals, when combined with the beneficial effects of a warm bath, they can help boost resistance to illness and disease. Similar to the effects of physical exercise, warm baths have also been found to trigger an anti-inflammatory response.
2. Increase Get-up-and-go - Our bodies need minerals. Magnesium is important for managing stress responses, and sadly most people are not getting the recommended magnesium intake. A salt bath can help bridge this gap and reduce poor sleep and muscle fatigue.
3. Soothes Muscle Injury - Warm baths can help ease pain and help your body to heal faster after an injury. When you add salts with warm water, the magnesium-rich bath salts can help relieve muscle spasms and menstrual cramps.
4. Promotes Restful Sleep - A warm salt bath is perfect for helping you relax , the temperature changes when going from a warm bath to cooler air can have an added benefit of improving sleep. For added benefit, use relaxing essential oils like Lavender and Chamomile to enrich your nighttime sleep routine.
5. Improves Skin Health - Salt soaks also help with skin impurities and balance skin moisture levels. The minerals in bath salts help promote healthy and more youthful looking skin.
6. Helps with Congestion - Allergies and infections can lead to a buildup of mucus, which everyone has to cope with at one time or another. Not only does a salt bath help to eliminate existing mucus buildup, but it can also help to prevent it. Adding Eucalyptus essential oil, can give even more help to decongest the respiratory system.
7. Because They Feel Good! Sometimes the only reason we need to take some extra time to rest and relax, isn’t that it may help with pain or health issues, it’s just because it feels good!  Don’t just take a bath just because you need to learn to take salt baths because you want to.

Most of our Bath Salts come in beautiful glass bottles, however some do come in plastic. Due to distribution issues, the bottle pictured may not be the style that you receive. 

Ingredients by Scent:

Back and Muscle Soak:  Magnesium Sulfate Crystals, Eucalyptus Oil, Peppermint Oil, Arnica Montana Flower Extract.                                                                        Directions: Add 2 cups to warm bath and soak.

Chamomile: Magnesium Sulfate Crystals, Chamomile Essential Oils, Dried Chamomile Flowers. Directions: Add 1 or 2 cups to warm bath and soak.

Eucalyptus: Magnesium Sulfate Crystals, Eucalyptus & Spearmint Leaf Essential Oils Directions: Add 1 or 2 cups to warm bath and soak.

Lavender: Magnesium Sulfate Crystals, Lavender Essential Oils, Dried Lavender Flowers. Directions: Add 1 or 2 cups to warm bath and soak

Lilac: Magnesium Sulfate Crystals, Lilac Essential Oils, Dried Lilac Flowers. Directions: Add 1 or 2 cups to warm bath and soak

Peppermint: Magnesium Sulfate Crystals, Peppermint Essential Oils, Dried Peppermint Leaves. Directions: Add 1 or 2 cups to warm bath and soak

Rose Petal: Magnesium Sulfate Crystals, Rose Essential Oils, Dried Rose Petals. Directions: Add 1 or 2 cups to warm bath and soak

Vanilla: Magnesium Sulfate Crystals, Vanilla Essential Oil.                              Directions: Add 1 or 2 cups to warm bath and soak

Warning: As good as this may smell… Please do not ingest it really won’t taste good. For that matter, don’t put it in your eyes, I’m sure it will not feel pleasant. Keep out of reach of Children. Not for internal consumption. Pregnant or lactating people consult a doctor prior to use. Discontinue if irritation occurs.
